HARRELL HORNE INTEGRATED SCHOOL (HHIS) started as a learning center for the preschool-aged children of families in BahayangPag-asa Subdivision, Bacoor, Cavite and nearby areas. It was then named Harrell Horne Learning Center (HHLC) by its founder, Mrs. Ma. Luz Sarabia Villanueva, education graduate, whose professional values and beliefs were and continue to be shaped and influenced by the ideas of Herman Harrell Horne, a nineteenth century American Educator-Philosopher.

At the time of its establishment in December 1994, HHLC was affiliated with the National Federation of Women’s Club of the Philippines (NFWCP) for practical reasons. Some documents required by DECS, now DepEd, to operate in time for the June 1994 class opening were not yet ready. However, on January 3, 1995, DECS granted permit to open pre-school education program.

On its first year of operation, the NFWCP- affiliated HHLC drew an unexpected enrollment of one hundred eight (108) preschool children. The number far exceeded the modest enrollment target of more or less fifty (50) preschool-aged children. The following year saw an even more impressive and significant increase in the number of enrollees.

A year after its establishment and on account of its rapid growth in enrollment and the clamor of parents for a regular elementary school, HHLC was converted into Harrell Horne Integrated School (HHIS). The new name reflected the integrated nature of the school curriculum. Consequently, HHIS was incorporated under the Philippine laws and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 3, 1995 as a non- sectarian non-profit educational institution and was granted government recognition on February 2, 1996.

From a humble one-room NFWCP-affiliated preschool learning center in December 1993, HHIS has gone a very long way. It has metamorphosed into a competitive, modern and efficient institution of learning offering preschool, elementary and secondary education programs. Two four-storey buildings and one main preschool center were added to the facilities of the school in just a span of five years from year 2002 – 2007. To add to this, a one-storey building with six classrooms was erected in 2014.

The founder’s unfailing faith, dedication and determination that every child, pupil or student, regardless of one’s socio-economic status in life, deserves to enjoy quality education with equal privilege to modest facilities offered by the school. With thiscontinuing advocacy, it gave birth to the HHIS – Hinigaran Campus at Brgy. Gargato , Hinigaran, Negros Occidental who catered 112 students in its first year of operation in 2016.

In 2017, a new four-storey building was erected to become the new administration building and the home of the senior high school students.

Harrell Horne Integrated School thrivesas a developing institution guided by the vision to become one of the most competent and competitive institutions in the delivery of Basic Education - the Preschool, Elementary and High School.

The dynamic spirit of Harrell Horne Integrated School serves as the strong pillar that Harrellian graduates are destined to give Glory to God, their Country and their Family.
